The Salvation Army is in great need of children’s coats this winter.
As the sun disappears and is often replaced with wind, rain, and even snow, many kids are feeling the effects. There are countless families in the United States that do not have the means to buy winter coats for their children, so these kids are forced to either brave the cold or turn to organizations like the Salvation Army for help.
Each year, the Salvation Army distributes coats to kids in need. These coats come purely from donations by families.
As your kids grow, their clothes become too small and you are forced to figure out what to do with them. Donating them to places like the Salvation Army is a great option, especially if the clothes are still in good shape and can be reused by someone that needs them.
Donating things to those in need is also a great opportunity to teach your children a lesson about helping those that are less fortunate than they are. It can be easy for kids to miss the big picture of the world, thinking that everyone has as much as they do. Teaching them to donate shows them that helping others is an important part of giving back to society.
So, when you pull out your children’s coats this year and find that they are too small, take them down to the Salvation Army and show your kids the value of helping those in need.

My family has always donated clothes and other necessary items to the less fortunate. Even though I'm not making a huge difference, I know my contribution is being appreciated by someone somewhere.

All my childhood clothes have been donated. They were good quality clothes too. I know that someone could benefit from them.
